Rejected petition Ensure the gender pay gap can be as low as possible/eliminiated

Rejected on

The gender pay gap in the UK is 19.7% (2013). This is unsuitable!
Over the years the gender pay gap has lowered. However, it is quite astonishing that despite living in the 21st century, we steal have to deal with an inequality when it comes to salary and pays.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

It's clear that you're concerned about the gender pay gap, but not clear what action you would like to see. The Government recently announced new measures to address the gender pay gap:

If you would like the Government or Parliament to take different or additional action, you could start a petition calling for that.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
