Petition Supplementary Clauses to the Human Rights Act 1998

More details

These suppplementary clauses are intended to address the apparent inequalities and injustices associated with the day to day working of the Human Rights Act 1998.

Critics point to the perceived problems resulting from the operation of the Act but acknowledge that it is neither desirable or practical to amend the basic elements of this laudable and essential existing Act. The addition of the following clauses attempts to provide a solution by leaving the existing Act untouched but provide for its operation and judgements to be contingent on recognising additional central and fundamental underlying principles.
1. The rights of the innocent exceed those of an aggressor.
2. The rights of the majority exceed those of a minority.
3. The individual has a primary responsibility for their own actions.
