Rejected petition I call for the country to enter into a general election before article 50 begins

I believe that the vote to leave the EU was too close and this is such a major decision. I also believe that the campaign to remain was not done well and the champagne to leave was full of misrepresentation.

If a political party campaigns to stay in the EU the people can give a fresh mandate to government if they elect them.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
