Rejected petition Reintroduction of the UK Navy Blue passport.

In 1920 British passports were introduced in what was commonly referred to as "old blue style". Embossed in gold on the exterior cover, it read, British Passport, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. In 1988 it was replaced for an agreed European Style and format.

More details

The old British Navy Blue passport began being phased out from the 15 August 1988. The passport office Glasgow was the first to issue the new European passport after an agreed format of size, content, colour and text. On 23 June 2016 Great Britain voted by a majority of 52% to separate ties from the European Union commonly refereed to as BREXIT. As the British government begin the processes exiting the European Union it is essential that British citizens see a reintroduction of the "old Navy Blue " British style passport.
