The recent US Presidential election has left millions of Americans facing the terrifying prospect of an oppressive, racist, sexist government. We, the undersigned, call on the UK government to permit asylum claims from all US citizens wishing to flee the persecution of a Trump presidency.

US citizens can already claim asylum in the UK, though there is also no guarantee that they will be granted asylum. In the UK, asylum is only granted to an applicant if they have left their country and are unable to go back for fear of persecution.
