Rejected petition To expel from the UK journalists from Russian media outlets RT & Sputnik
RT (formerly known as Russia Today) and Sputnik are Russian state-controlled media platforms.
As they are state-controlled, and do not represent the values or norms of a free press, we the undersigned request Her Majesty's Government to withdraw formal press accreditation from these organisations.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The UK Government and Parliament don't accredit journalists working in the UK. The UK Press Card Authority Ltd runs a voluntary press accreditation scheme. You can find out more about them here:
http://www.ukpresscardauthority.co.uk/
The UK Government and Parliament also aren't responsible for the regulation of TV broadcasters in the UK. Ofcom is the UK’s independent communications regulator. You can find out how to complain to Ofcom here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
