Rejected petition Stop the BBC broadcasting "The One Show"

The BBC broadcasts this terrible program since 2006. People are forced to pay through the licence fee for this programme which meets nothing within the core purpose of the BBC to inform, educate and entertain. Instead it dulls our minds, and bores us. It needs to stop.

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
