Rejected petition Provide financial support for the newly self employed effected by COVID19

To provide those of us newly self employed with financial support who are not able to work due to COVID19 as offered to those who are employed or self employed with at least 1 years tax return. To stop fraudulent claims, let us submit self assessment 2019-2020 earnings NOW and be eligible

More details

There is a minority of us slipping through the safety net because we run a newly set up business from home. We have put hours of hard work, sweat, blood and tears into our businesses and we’re eligible for zero financial help from the government in this time of crisis. What we’ve earnt in March is supposed to last us for the foreseeable until we can work again. Even if we are eligible for Universal Credit, £400 a month in comparison to our earnings?! This is not fair and not ‘whatever it takes’
