Petition Secondary schools' catchment areas should be weighted by travel times
More details
Using straight-line distance as the main measure of whether a child can get in any given school place (after special circumstances are taken into consideration) is no longer sufficient.
It doesn't take into account:
1) The ease of access to any given school (a straight-line nearer one may require a complicated and/or dangerous route)
2) children who are caught on the borders between boundaries
This petition is to ensure that children who fall into these categories are prioritised equally with those that have a straight-line proximity.
