To remove gender labels from school uniform policies across the UK. To implement an inclusive policy that allows children to wear a school uniform that they feel most comfortable in. To require all schools’ uniform policies to list appropriate items of uniform without gender labelling.
Having a gender based school uniform policy can be harmful to young children's mental health. Not only is it sexist and outdated, but also discriminative and damaging to transgender and gender non-conforming children.
The Welsh Government has already implemented these new statutory guidelines and it is time for the rest of the Nations to follow.
Why was this petition rejected?
