I call on the Government to stop companies automatically charging customers for their services unless the customer contacts the company to 'opt out' or cancel a contract.

As from 4/01/2014 BT will 'opt in' customers to paid-for services that were previously free so that customers will pay a new monthly charge unless they contact the company to cancel.

Some Insurance companies automatically renew a policy unless the policy holder contacts the company to cancel.

Consumers should have the choice to 'opt in' or renew and not be automatically charged for a product or service they do not or no longer want.
