Petition British Overseas Territories
More details
Some of the British overseas territories are considered to be non-self governing territories where the British Government appoints a Governor that is responsible for choosing the Chief of Police, appointing magistrates and handling issues such as national security.
This being said, as long as the overseas territory retains its link to the United Kingdom, the British government remains committed to their future development, security and protection of human rights.
British Government should then take firm action in providing proper facilities to train police officers or even implement armed forces within the island such as the British Army to ensure that the island is adequately secured.
This will benefit overseas territories such as Anguilla. Anguilla is known for its spectacular tourism product as to which its economy is driven, and the citizens of the island will feel more secure.
