This e petition calls for the Secretary of State to call in the plans for Blackpool Council's funded 4 star hotel proposal in order to attract party conferences back to Blackpool.

This development is fundamentally flawed as there are no state of the art conference facilities matching those provided by the likes of Birmingham and Manchester within Blackpool.

The proposal to fund this project by borrowing £15M will place a huge burden on the residents of Blackpool, at a time when the council failed to secure the future of Blackpool Airport leading to the loss of valuable jobs in the town.
