All road closures should not only be clearly advised well before the closure point on all roads and at the closure points the diversion route should be clear at every roundabout or junction.
At present the Highways agency only deals with motorways and local authorities with other roads with no shared responsiblity. This means a motorway can be closed with no clear alternative and causes further accidents and frustrations.
The HA needs to be responsible that any motorway closure provides a clearly marked alternitative route.
