Rejected petition Make Car Tax payable and refundable on the day of transfer and not by month!
DVLA say car tax is only refunded for full months remaining; but when the new owner taxes the vehicle they are charged from the first day of the month. DVLA are therefore in receipt of tax from two sources for one vehicle when it changes hands mid-month. This is unjust and must be changed
