Rejected petition Abolish Police & Crime Commissioners, who's cost is better spent on policing.

I've received a polling card for a May election of our PCC, with no info' on candidates - AND I've learned that the police station serving the Burnham & Highbridge area is to close.

PCCs earn £100,000+, and many are demanding extra costs for such things as PR spokesmen.

While the additional cost of PCCs has been added to the council-tax bill, those expensive new "chiefs" have been payed for by cutting the number of PCs on the beat and closing police stations. This is NOT what local voters want!

The record-breaking low turn-out of voters for PCC elections shows that we tax-payers do not want these over-paid overseers: we prefer to have more police officers on the beat!
