Rejected petition Amend Help to Buy ISAs to allow bonus to apply to the initial cash deposit.

The Government launched the Help to Buy ISA scheme in 2015 claiming it would help first time buyers obtain a deposit by boosting savings by 25%. On Friday 19 August, the Treasury told the Daily Telegraph that the bonus would not apply to the initial cash deposit. 500,000 set-up accounts before this.
