Rejected petition Allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote in the General Election on June 8th 2017

This General Election is even more important that the previous one, as whoever is elected will be responsible for Brexit negotiations with the EU. The result of which will affect no generation greater than those young people who are currently disenfranchised by the usual election voting rules.

More details

Theresa May has just called for a snap General Election on June 8th 2017.

It is fair and just to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote on the most important political issue of their lives.

The results of the IN/OUT referendum proved that had the 16 and 17-year-olds been allowed to vote -- the result would have been in favour of a vote to remain in the EU.
