Rejected petition Sanction Turkey in response to ongoing human rights abuses

Under Erdogan's autocracy, Turkey is systemically violating the human rights of minorities, political opponents, journalists and dissident citizens in civil liberties, free speech and right to fair trial.

The UK must acknowledge the abuses, halt its arms trade with Turkey and impose sanctions.

More details

According to the UK's arms export laws, it's illegal for the government to sell weapons to countries that violate international humanitarian law. The UN, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty documented Turkey's severe violations which include civilian killings, torture in prisons and violent collective punishments. Freedom house declared Turkey a 'not free' country.
