For many years bulldogs have been bred with in a small gene pool, this has caused issues within the breed Health wise

At the moment bulldog breeders do not have to conform to any health checks from either the bitch or stud to breed and register the puppies with the kennel club

Introducing a rating system would help breed healthier bulldogs and protect the breed many view as a symbol of Great Britain
