Rejected petition Attendance not to decrease at school if a day taken due to religious holiday Eid

Eid el Fitr is celebrated at the end of a lunar month when the crescent moon is present. Eid el Fitr may be on the 15th of June, a school day. Many students across the country feel as they are restricted to take a day off to celebrate with their families because their attendance will be affected.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The Government's guidance already says that schools must treat absence as authorised when it is due to religious observance.
