Rejected petition Karen Bradley to Resign as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland

Today, 06/09/18, Karen Bradley announced direct rule for NI. She also announced a long overdue measly pay cut for MLAs, who aren't working, in addition to legislation blocking the people of NI exercising our democratic right to elect a new government in the absence of a functioning one.

More details

We are now twenty months without government.
Our political leaders are failing us.
They do not deserve to be paid when not working.
We do not deserve to be ruled by civil servants.
We do not deserve our democratic rights to elect a new government being removed by the Secretary of State.

We deserve a Secretary of State that has courage, commitment and compassion for the ordinary people in Northern Ireland.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The resignation of an MP or Minister would be an individual decision for that person, and not a decision for the Government or Parliament as a whole.

If you're concerned about a particular policy or decision that's the responsibility of Government or Parliament, you could start a petition about that.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
