Rejected petition Stop M.Ps from supporting demo's against invited foreign leaders who visit U.K.

While demonstrations by members of the public are normally acceptable, it is wrong of M.Ps to insult duly elected political leaders of allied countries invited to our shores (and with whom they may need to negotiate at a future time) by being involved in such public demonstrations.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The decision to attend demonstrations is the responsibility of individual MPs, not of the UK Government or Parliament.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
