Rejected petition Delay two bank holidays until the end of the COVID-19 pandemic

Delay two public bank holidays for the United Kingdom in light of the COVID-19 pandemic until as such time where they can be enjoyed by the general public as a celebration. It is noted that bank holidays are crucial for certain industries and an opportunity to delay be investigated.

More details

Delaying bank holidays will be a perfect opportunity to:

- ensure an outdoor celebration for the public at a later date (post isolation)

- Inject money into the economy from the paying public to the services sector

- avoid wasting a bank holiday opportunity immaterial reasons

It should be noted that crucial and necessary services will likely forgo bank holidays during isolation. People in these services / businesses should deserve their opportunity to celebrate with the rest of the country.
