Rejected petition Give pedophiles harsher sentences

Give pedophiles & child abusers longer & harsher sentences. We live in a country where drug dealers get harsher punishment than people who abuse children. The law needs to be updated & changed including taking , distributing & watching child pornography.

As a mother of two young children this is my biggest fear & more needs to be done about the issue. 1 in 6 boys and 1 in 4 girls under the age of 18 have been abused. We need harsher laws for offenders. In my opinion this is their sexual preference and i do not believe pedophiles can reform.
We need a track & trace system in place for offenders living in society & their passports revoked , whilst not letting foreign offenders enter the country.
