Adoptions do not always work out for the better for one or both parties (Adopters / Adoptees).
Marriages be much the same.
Both 'agreements' are entirely artificial, but, only the Marriage agreement can be annulled currently.
Adopters and Adoptees (over the age of eighteen) should be able to annul Adoptions.
