Shopworkers face abuse and violence which can be daunting. We think penalties for under 18 shoplifters are insufficient and should be reviewed.","additional_details":"In our view, community based orders could be effective as it can allow offenders to build empathy, gain life-skills, and better understand the repercussions of their actions. We urge policymakers to review the current penalty system for shoplifting and consider implementing alternative penalties as standard practice for a more responsible society & approach to crime prevention.
