Despite criminal charges and previous concerns already being known, I felt unsupported and retraumatised by systems meant to protect victims. The stress, fear and ongoing abuse after separation became so overwhelming it severely affected my mental health and left me feeling hopeless. Survivors need real protection after leaving, not continued trauma.
