No patient should face delays, repeated cannulation attempts or avoidable complications due to a lack of staff training.","additional_details":"As a person with Cystic Fibrosis, I recently attended A&E and was later admitted to a hospital ward. Despite having a Port-a-Cath inserted due to years of treatment damaging my veins, staff were unable to use it because they lacked the necessary training. A peripheral cannula was used instead, which failed during treatment, causing swelling, bruising and pain in my arm.
