Road traffic is a significant and largely preventable threat to wildlife, particularly where roads cross established wildlife corridors, habitats and migration routes. The Government already provides warning signs for wild animals, small wild animals and migratory toad crossings. However, we are concerned that the use of wildlife warning signs is inconsistent, and many roads where animals regularly cross have no warning to motorists.
