Tests should be required every 2–3 years, or sooner if needed.","additional_details":"Not all cervical cell changes or cancers are HPV related. We feel relying only on HPV testing removes a vital safety net, puts people with a history of abnormal cells at risk and ignores evidence that HPV negative disease exists.\r\n \r\nWe want to mandate the examination of all cervical samples, so they are checked for abnormal cells, not just those that are HPV-positive. We also want routine tests to happen every 2-3 years instead of automatic 5-year screening interval for HPV-negative individuals.
