Tenants may live there for years without knowing lead pipes are present or whether lead is entering their drinking water.\r\n\r\nLandlords should check for lead pipes instead of leaving tenants to discover them by chance. Where lead pipes are found, tenants should be informed and given regular water test results. Lead pipes should ultimately be replaced.
