Rejected petition Ban Cold Calling on the Telephone or at the Door

This is a petition to call for a ban on any company calling you on the telephone or arriving on your doorstep when you have not previously chosen to affilate yourself with them in any way. This would serve to assist in preventing vulnerable people from being pressurised into buying things that they do not need or want by unscrupulous companies.
I would still allow companies you do already deal with such as your bank to call you to advise you of new products.
