This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

There is no provision under the Mental Health Act 1983 for the UK Government or Parliament to detain an individual. Section 2(3) of the Act sets out the procedure for detention.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
