Petition Human Rights for Children

All children should have the basic human right to know and have contact with both of their biological parents.

Action

The Government should set in law that the biological parents of a child should be written on their birth certificate, obtainable at age 16 years.
All children conceived through surrogacy should know their biological heritage and the name of their biological parents.
All biological parents should contribute to financial upbringing of their children.
It should be enshrined in law that all parents should make strenuous efforts to identify the biological parent should this be uncertain by them obtaining DNA tests where necessary
The only exception is where a Court Order has been obtained to protect the child until it is 16 years old.
