Rejected petition large corporations and banks should digitally sign all email

To protect UK citizens from fraudulent emails and data lose, large corporations and especially banks should sign their email with a certificate. This would prevent end users from "phising" attacks and reduce cyber crime.

More details

My bank emailed me explaining how to spot an fraudulent email. This seems ridiculous as signing emails with certificates has been for many years. HTTPS was created to protect online shoppers while shopping however all businesses communicate and banks communicate via email which has not been secured.

Signing an email is the simplest and most cost effective process that will make people's lives easier and protect our citizens.

email clients could have "green bar" like the browsers do.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

You seem to be asking for banks and large corporations to choose to take this action.

If you would like Parliament to pass a law requiring them to do so, you could start a petition about that.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
