Petition Ensure that consumers can tell where their goods are manufactured.

Customers should be allowed to make informed decisions regarding the products they purchase in high street shops and online stores.

They may want to support manufacturing jobs closer to home. Or they may prefer to buy greener products which do not need to be shipped half way round the world.

In order for us to make an informed decision before purchasing an item, the country of manufacture needs to be displayed on the outside packaging, where it is easily visible to the high street consumer.

For internet shoppers, the country of manufacture should be on the same web page as the product description and price.

Currently, consumers are left in the dark because many products and stores withhold this basic information.
