Given the level of interest created in E-petitions because of the current events of public disorder and criminal activity, to avoid abuse of this system the level for number of signatures threshold to be raised from 100,000 to 250,000 would reflect a genuine concern or consensus of the British public on any given subject to be given consideration by parliamentary committee.
