I would petition that the rules for selecting the Speaker of the House of common be changed so that any party that in the previous two or three elections had polled more than 30% of the voting public can select two candidates max for the role of Speaker of the House of Commons. Then during the general election them names are put to the public to vote on. The deputy speaker would be the second place candidate in the vote outcome.
