This petition is to request that citizens and police officers be able to arm themselves like our counterparts in the United States.

Long rifles aren't necessary for self-defence, but pistols are what I am requesting.
There should be no limit on the caliber.
If it requires a person to apply for a license, they are to do a theory and practical examination by trained government or law enforcement officials to determine whether or not the person is safe with the firearm and is able to use it with competence.

Openly carrying and carrying concealed are issues for the future, if it's even deemed okay to carry a firearm outdoors.
