Rejected petition retain personal property of rioters to the value they stole

It is my belief that these 'hoodies' and thieves should be made to lose their own personal property to the value of the items they looted.
I feel it would make them think of the consequences of their actions if the same thing happened to them.
Give the courts and police the right to enter the looters / or looters family and take their possesions; and see how they like a taste of their own medicine?
