Closed Ex military personnel to hold firearms for defence against terrorist attacks.

This could be at the government's choosing, but could be something like a gun cabinet holding the weapon and one magazine of rounds, or the re-introducion of of a pistol licence, with possibly the option for a concealed carry permit to allow persons to react immediately to terrorist threats.

This could be heavily tested and administered by the government, similar to a home guard
At the end of the day, you trained us to use weapons, now allow us to use them under strict rulings, that could stop the innocent murder of our families and countrymen and women.
