Whilst the electorate are permitted referendums every four or five years, called "elections", lobby groups have been and are continuing to access and influence national and local politicians on a daily basis.

A substantial and unwarranted amount of legislation has resulted directly or indirectly from the influence of lobby groups on MP's.

To assist restoration of democracy in the UK, every person elected to the position of MP should be barred from representing any national, local or international lobby group.
