Rejected petition UK Government and Parliament petitions to be used to for votes of no confidence

The recent petition regarding a vote of no confidence in David Cameron has been rejected, even with overwhelming support.
Many people are questioning this decision as it clearly does not represent the democratic will of a proportion of the populace.
