As long as ministers occupy a world cocooned from the mainstream of British life, they cannot responsibly legislate for the rest of us, nobody will believe that 'we are all in this together', and the alienation that we have seen will continue.
Legislation is therefore required that, as a condition of office, ministers should a) use only publicly provided health and education services for themselves and their immediate family; b) hold, either personally or by proxy, no financial assets offshore.
