A similar programme in Australia has deterred illegal entry to that country and is highly likely to have the same effect in the United Kingdom.

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

As we understand it, the programme in Australia involved transporting asylum seekers to immigration detention centres. As far as we are aware, there is no such centre in South Georgia.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
