Rejected petition To turn all telephone boxes in all capital cities in to wifi hotspots.

Putting a city wide wifi will be a great improvement to the city's and as telephone boxes are not used as much it makes sense to keep the design but just put a transmitter into the to of the box. This should be put in to Edinburgh,London,Belfast and Dublin first then move on to other cities

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We cannot accept your petition as telephone boxes are owned by companies such as BT and so are not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. In addition, Dublin is not part of the UK.

You might want to contact BT direct about your suggestion:
http://home.bt.com/pages/static/i/pansegment/contact_us/contactus.html

You could contact local councils to suggest wifi networks in city and town centres.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
