Rejected petition Creation of a compulsory National Service for young people

In order to instil self discipline and a sense of public duty and responsibitlity, which recent lawless events have shown is totally lacking in the younger generation, I propose that all persons on reaching the age of 18 are obliged to undertake a minimum of period of 1 year, of Natonal Service away from their home environment.. Such Service would be run on disciplined military lines but for community projects with the participants wearing uniform.
