Considering the recent scandal surrounding the criminal activities of News Corp and the power and influence it exerted over the British people and alarmingly our government, parlaiment should debate on new laws to prevent corporations from monopolising mainstream media that is able to influence our soceity by controlling the information it provides.
As in the case of Murdoch; this one man was able to to tacitly exercise so much power using his media machines that he was able to 'control' which party got elected into power. Unsurprisingly we have heard about a number of backdoor meetings between Murdoch or his executives with various political leaders which is seen as unhealthy and reduces public confidence in our government.
