Rejected petition want to stop our local council from building houses on allotment land
The council purchased the land of pump hollow road forest town which has been used as allotments for years, the council report stated that the land was not being used as allotments there are at least 10 allotment holders which currently have allotments,there are a few empty allotments

The Allotments Act 1925- specifies that land purchased or appropriated by local authorities for use as allotments must not be disposed of without Ministerial consent. The Secretary of State must be satisfied that 'adequate provision will be made for allotment holders displaced by the action of the local authority, or that such provision is unnecessary or not reasonably practicable'
